Ainsley's Daily Travel Journal -White Sands, NM

I went to White Sands NM. It was fun! I learned about gypsum. I loved sliding down the white sand. The white sand was really interesting. When I put my hand in the sand, it felt wet. I realized there is water close to the top. The water hit the gypsum. And the ranger said I’m going to show you a very big yucca. But when we got there, it was super small. It was actually 35 feet! We were only looking at the top. It was growing on a hill and then down into the sand. This yucca is rare.

I also went to a missile museum. Inside the museum were small missiles and pictures of them. There were lots of words! Outside of the museum were big missiles. There are different types of missiles. There are surface to surface, air to surface, and surface to air. Another name for surface is ground. I didn’t know there were that many missiles in the world!
